so confusing". Well, you get the picture, and many of you can probably
identify with some or all of these statements.
We've done our best to draw an analogy that might help those of you that are new to the
game better understand all of the terms. Very simply put, think of getting a website as
buying a new Mobile Home.
Step 1: Registering your domain address (your .com)
Think of this as purchasing your mobile home. Just as a bank would do the paperwork for a
mortgage on a Mobile Home for you, we can do the paperwork to register your domain. The
difference is that it's one heck of alot cheaper than a
mortgage! If you already have your domain name registered,
we'll transfer it for you at no charge.
Click
here to see if your domain is available. If it is, give
us a call to register it for you. Our cost is $50 for a 2 year registration. Once this has been
done, you're on your way!
Step 2: Designing your website
Perhaps you have some ideas on
the colors you'd like, or the "feel" you want. Just as an interior designer might do, we get to
know you and your business, then we strive to develop a website that presents to every visitor
exactly who you are.
Step 3: Hosting
Now that you have your new mobile home decorated the way you like, you still need a place to "park"
it. A place where the rent is affordable, but still provides you with everything you might need.
Webworks By Di then rents you space in our "Mobile Home Park".
We put your website on the Internet, so that when someone wants to visit, they just type in your
domain address and they're there.
This is the place where your mail is delivered. If you're out of town, you can have it forwarded
to you. Want to take some time away, but don't want people to feel
"ignored" while your gone? Leave a message, so that when they e-mail you, they'll get
an auto response, saying whatever you like. i.e. "Thank you for your e-mail. We'll be
out of town until the 26th, but we look forward to talking to you when we return". So
in actuality, Webworks By Di is even your answering service!
Do we own your Mobile Home?? Absolutely
not. If ever you want to move to a different Mobile Home Park
(but why would you want to?!), that is your right. The domain
address is registered to you. You are the Registrant, and you
can move your name wherever you'd like.
In Addition . . . Just as eventually you'd add a patio, a deck, etc. to your Mobile Home,
later on you can do the same with your website to give it even more appeal and functionality.
Guestbooks, counters, site search, and so much more. If you'd rather not wait, you can have these
programs installed while your new home is being designed. You can choose from the already wide
range of programs we have to offer, or you can have something custom built just for you. We do
everything possible to make sure that you're comfortable in your new Internet Home!
*Note: Just as you couldn't move a deck or a patio if you moved your Mobile Home, these add on's
are for your use on our server only.
